I am a long time Mac user since 1982 for my professional work as a graphic designer. You can't go wrong with any Apple computer. They are reliable, amazing technology and they are fast. Total workhorse. I have a 17 inch laptop and a 24 inch desktop model. Both have awesome displays so your colors are true and brilliant. My suggestion is to get a bigger screen. You won't be able to do much on that 13 inch. If you don't need a laptop for convienance, I would say get the desktop models. Much bigger screen and more memory.

I just bought a 15" Macbook Pro Retina. So far I love it, no complaints. I have been a long time PC user and finally converted to mac. I bought it specifically for an online digital painting class that I am going to take. This is super speedy

and has a very freindly user interface. I am still in the process of learning the OS and will start digging into photoshop. I like the idea of having a laptop for convenience but am able to use it like a desktop with a wireless mouse and keyboard. I use a 24" Dell external monitor and bought a Thunderbolt to via converter since this is the new interface that Apple uses. You can hook up to 2 external monitors if you so desire also. I payed more money for this than I originally planned but made sure I had 8 GB of ram for photoshop.

That's awesome. Glad to hear you are converted to the Mac! You won't be disappointed and learning the OS won't take too long. My husband switched over a couple years ago and can still do his Microsoft apps he can't get for the Mac on it using the bootcamp feature. You can run both machines on one computer so you get the most out of it without buying both.
