The book about his life is great reading too: "The Agony and the Ecstacy". Read this while touring around Italy on our honeymoon and visited Carerra where he got his marble from - amazing.

Thanks Richard,  I got this sent to me in an e-mail a while back.  I looked and found the snake, Adam, and Eve on the ceiling.  Took quite a long time to see it all.  I was so impressed with the size and complexity of the larger painting along the side of the room.  I guess as long as I think, "I can not imagine doing anything that hard and big", I never will.  I am just learning to paint in the old master's Flemish style with 4-7 layers.  I was wondering if he painted all this in this "many, many layers" technique?  Have you ever heard?  Roena
hmm, can't remember, but I think it might be fresco, which is painting into wet plaster.

Spent far too long looking at this this morning but heh thanks for passing it on. Bought back so many memmories of fabulous place. We were very fortunate to be in the chapple with only 20 people for 30min before the huge influx of hurried tourists so able to take in it's wonder and history.

Thank you Richard for this and all you do for us.

Very cool. Some people have an amazing amount of time on there hands!
