Sharon,   To answer your question regarding linen.  No, I don't use glue etc.  This one came stretched on a frame just like regular canvas.  I have also used linen panels for plein air painting.  Linen is more expensive but can be found at reasonable prices.  Once you paint on it, you won't want to use anything else.  It is like butter.
