Thank you for your most encouraging comment Mairo. I am so happy you liked this painting :-}}
I really like this painting; the overall blue effect is stunning and I love the colours that you have chosen; especially the combination of the vibrant green foliage and the bright blues on the boat; to my eye they set each other off very nicely. I really like your brush strokes too and the atmosphere rendered by the stillness of the boat in the calm waters. It is a lovely style.
Thank you Cristina, lovely to be back amongst you all again :-}}
Superb! Welcome back,Pauline!
Thank you Jessica for your lovely comment and thank you michael for such a wonderful critique it was one of thoes painting whereby the colours seemed to work instantly. This is very unusual for me and my plein air efforts. I really want to do this again maybe with a bigger expanse of water to try out my newly found seldom used friend Phalo blue. I'm well chuffed thanks again both! :-}}
Among other things, Pauline, I love how you under painted the darks of the trees in beautiful transparent warm tones, and then painted the various greens and blue greens on top! The dominant cool tones of your painting are balanced by that warmth. The tree darks, being a more muted version of your orange boat buoy, creates a nice unifying pair of complimentary contrasts as well as a contrast of saturation between the two. Lots of other good things happening in this painting, Pauline .... but would take a page to discuss! Anyway, beautiful painting.
Beautiful blues & sense of light, Pauline - lovely work!
