Thanks, Candi - wel, I reworked the gondolier the paintings's 'further on' in the 'list"!
Jon, I like this painting very much, like your colors A LOT, and your boat is wonderful! I still think your gondolier is way off scale though, his height compared to the people seated in the boat, and to the buildings behind. New to this site, and really like all your other work too, but your gondolier is bothering me :)
I dunno about the hard edges - I love the fact the painting is 'dry' quickly - what bugs me about acrylics is the lack of opacity - I believe the acrylic vehicle has less of a pigment load than oil. Good for glazing and using watercolor style effects too, though, I must also get some gel medium to thicken them up
Walda - I use oils and acrylics - but in winter I'm painting indoors - so acrylics - I'd forgotten how much they suit me - must get some Golden heavy body!
Nancy - well, I do 'em pretty fast ;) (-that's why they are a bit rough!)
Glad to see someone else using acyrlics! Very nice painting; the gondoleer using the pole adds SO much!
Hey, Silvana! Thanks a bundle!
Jon! I like this painting very much! specially the gondola and gondolier!
Yeah - I wanted cooler colors... dusk creeping in - thanks, Cristina
