Sure! He may still be too small overall, but it's definitely worth trying.

Thank you Gail!! I really appreciate your thoughts!! I agree! He really bothers me and I was trying and trying to figure out what was wrong. His stance is really awkward which I'm sure has something to do with it. Do you think if I made his leg thicker and enlongated him that way it would help? Instead of starting completely over.. it's just amazing how if there's anything, even a tiny bit off with the human figure your eye picks it up right away.

Hi Adrienne
I always worry when I make suggestions! I wish people would give me more criticism than they do, but at the same time I feel hesitant to do it myself. But, since you ask....!!! I would say that the movement in your sand seems to take our eye to the boy. This swirly movement is nicely done, and heightens the drama. Also, we follow where the girl is looking, and these factors together give the boy extra importance in the painting, yet he doesn't seem to be as well rendered as the girl. I guess I would redo him, making him a little bigger and les flattened - he's just that bit too tightly folded I think, to look natural. I love the wildness of your ocean, especially the softness/storminess at the horizon. Maybe do away with the oval shape to the right oh her hat, in the water as it's not really contributing. Let me know what you think!

Great hair on this delightfully painted young lady. She certainly captures the sunlight - and you did a nice job with those purples all down her shade side. They look especially good with the yellow of her hat and hair.
