Dor, this is such fun.  That village is so inviting, and I love that you added those figures by the shore.  Bravo!

Thank you very much Jessica!  Richard said time to vote, and stopped right where I was and took picture and sent it in just under the wire I guess!  Smiles to you. ;-)

A lovely fun painting, Dor!

Hi Dor, at first glance I thought the windows were too dark - as though I could crawl right into them, but then realised the lid of my laptop was too far back, and when straightened in fact the windows are fine.  Like the idea of washing hanging out to dry. Agree with Michael about the horizon line needing a little straightening, otherwise the picture is an interesting one and makes one wonder what kind of people are living in the buildings, if the boats are used just to get from A to B or are they fishing boats? Interesting!  Each inch of your painting is different.  Well done!  <3 <3

Thank you Laura.  I must confess this is a copycat.  Smiles to you ;-)

Marvelous critique Michael.  You are right on all your suggestions.  I am tired of fooling with it now, and may go back and fix somethings at a later time right now it is sticky wet.  Thank you and smiles are headed your way ;-)

Very nice Dorian!!   Your focal point is well established with nice contrast of light and dark!!  I would like to see some reflections of the tower and buildings into the water ....that makes the painting harmonious by moving the colors around and the reflection of the tower would form a nice cruciform compositional element and would tie the two figures in with the background.  Would also like to see you straighten your horizon and avoid those long straight lines that occur between the shore line and the water ...try to break that line up. I like the playful umbrella shapes ..maybe a bright red one catching the sun ..it would give some sparkle to that area and put the red of the women's blouse, somewhere else in the painting.   Good job!! :))
