TaDA!  this was better, a lot wrong I know but it just would not dry and in the long run I didn't want to mess it up any more by trying to fix it with a glaze.  Wow what a fun month of learning experiences.

Happy Painting to all of you and thank  you so much for your votes, instructions and encouragements.

Love and smiles to all of you : ))

Dor, just take a couple of your panels and put another coat or two of gesso (any brand) on one and any alkyd medium, diluted a little with OMS on the other.  You could use your alkyd-walnut oil or Liquin or Galkyd.   This will just fill up the pores on the surface and make your paint flow better and not absorb all the oil in it.   You've got nothing to lose.  Tell us which you like best.   Stu

Live and learn all the time Stu and Jessica!  Thanks so much......I use the WSO's and they do handle differently than regular oil.......and I have a stock pile of those canvas panels.........Smiles coming your way again : ))

Dor, I have found the same thing with canvas panels vs canvas paper primed with gesso. I will try coating my canvas panels with gesso, as you suggest Stu - they do seem to absorb a lot of paint, even when I have a base layer of acrylic over them.  Maybe it's particularly troublesome with WSOs for some reason? The paint just doesn't go on smoothly.   Thanks, Stu.
