This is a study on painting wildlife. I did this from a photo I took in Yosemite at Elizabeth Lake.

Thank you Linda and Ann. Ann, they are deer. I believe mule deer but not sure. It is a baby and mom. This one was from an online workshop on painting wildlife by Johannes Vloothous.

Beautifully handled light coming thru the forest. Your brushwork is energetic with a limited color palette. All complimenting each other. Are the animals elk? The one in the mid ground  looks like a deer to me but not sure about the one on the left.
