Xiao Li, we just start W27, painting big waves with rocks. if you are not very tired, you still have time to join this one. Anyway, take it easy. Waiting to see more of your beautiful paintings.

Thank you Ningning and Ann for the encouraging comments.  I have been back to China for the past two months to take care of my mother.  I just came back and saw I have missed a lot of fun.  Hopefully I will have time to re-touch this painting according to Richard's critique and re-join the workshop soon.  Happy painting!

Thank you Laura for the encouraging comment. This one was quite a challenge. I was attracted to this photo by its strong notan, but when I actually painting it, the mid ground huge hill became a problem.  It was quite hard to use value to send it farther to separate it from the fore ground tree. I am not sure if I have accomplished this. I think the two values are still too close, but I can't further grey down the hill without loosing its interests.

This is a great painting Xiao! The middle ground rocky hill is just spectacular. It convence me to give a try too.
