Garrapata Workshop24

12 x 12 Oil on canvas My second oil. I found it very difficult to mix the colors I wanted but I believe my problem is the quality of my water soluble oils by Artisan. My grays weren't gray enough and my bright weren't bright enough. Still learning to paint with oils. Made a lot of mud at times as I would go back into areas and mix layers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only change I might make would perhaps lighter bits of water, but if I did a painting this good I would be proud to hang it on my wall. Dorothy

Comment by Sharon Repple on August 14, 2013 at 14:56: Thanks Linda, great advice. I wanted a more reddish green and more intense orange but was unable to get the exact colors I desired. I do like the thickness of paints so that you can see the brush strokes better.
