I think Gondolas are not symetrical - one side is higher than the other so the gondolier can turn it - at least I think that's what i saw on the video! so I'd leave the gondola as is..better withthe softer edges on the buildings as well!!

very good work, and it is an interesting challenge, learning a lot from all of you.

I like the "goldie" look in you painting Jim.  I agree with Ann in softening the buildings in the background for the atmospheric purposes which I also found hard to do.

Hi Jim, hope I didn't mess you up!  Just straighten the curve of the end and it will line up.  It is a very hard boat to draw!  Yes, Richard's is a little "off" also.  I'm struggling with mine as well.  I agree with Ann that the dome is too large.

The softened buildings are great. . .  It would help to move it back into the atmosphere if you make the domes small and softer. I think the central one is a little large.

Wow! Great! I understand now why you've titled the other one 'original'!

This is a replacement photo after making a few changes suggested by some of you.  Sharon I agree with you about the alignment perspective and you can see how I have changed the aft by hopefully looking at the back fin from a different angle.  I looked at Richard's painting and his boat too does not line up correctly.  Oh well at my skill level that's perhaps the best I can do.

Also, Lori you can see that I have softened the edges of the buildings and I believe it does help.  I may redo this painting and make the buildings smaller which should also move them further back. Thanks all for the comments.Unfortunately by deleting the original I have lost your comments.
