Thanks Michael.  I would like to say that I made all those conscious choices you mentioned but I didn't.  :) You've made some very good suggestions but I will most likely leave it as is and try to take those into account on the next painting.  This is fairly small and I am hoping to do a larger, similar painting for our living room.   I will try to give that one more thought before putting paint to canvas.  Or if it doesn't work out I will just say that was the "style" I was after.  :)  Thanks again.

Tammy, wonderful illusion of texture on the rocks.  You seem to have an equal division of darks and lights ... I would say something about all of your hard edges, but I think you are maybe making a "statement" with that ... so I will leave that one alone..    I think some more cool light from the snow shadows could be bouncing up into the rocks? .. especially in the rock that has that cast shadow.  Once again, maybe it is the minimalist approach you are taking?????  I have a sense that there is a "style" you are after here ... so maybe this is when some of the "rules of composition" can be broken?
