30x40 cm, oil on canvas. Big brushes and small man. I thought the waterlines and fence form an attractive zig zag, followed by the warm zig zag defined by the upper hulls and sheds. Or: cold-warm-cold zig zag.

Thanks Richard, the front hull - I do understand and also still have Michael's careful word "foil" (below) ringing in my ear, so I have rounded the hull a bit more and added light. I struggled with the front hull forth and back, it should be there but also take second stage and then also be part of the warm zig-zag I tried to build in.

Beautiful! Need some more form in the foreground hull?

thank you Glenys, brushwork takes a lot of conscious effort, still learning.

Hi Michael, thank you very much for your supporting comments. I thought I had an idea but keep looking at the big boat and wondered whether I should have made it more vague or more unfinished to make it disappear more. ( I just looked through your paintings and realize that your judgement comes from real authority) . So thank you for commenting my above point of concern.

Hi Gunther.  Very nice work.  I really love the way you cropped and subdued the large boat to make the sailboat the focal point...... we really do not even notice that big shape .. but we kind of "sense" its presence as a foil for the sailboat.   Everything else in the picture supports your focal point very well!!
