Jess, I never paint any night scene(by the way, this is only one of thousands things I have never painted). It must be very difficult to judge and control the value , colour and light. Your painting attract me first is the light effect. For me is very beautifully down. I love that curious little dog. Only one menor thing I noticed that the head and the botum of the lamp are almost black. If I were you I would paint them partially and grey colour because that I think the glowing of the light will be like a screen and cover some part of them. And the rest part I can see would be lighter colour grey(glowing light+body colour; I may use the wrong terms, hope that you know what I want to say.) Jess, it is funny, I have never painted a lamp . But I just observed it one night resently. That is what I found out. Again, I do not know how to do it in painting. Just a thought. I talked too long for this menor thing. In fact this painting is a very interesting, beautiful and finely designed  piece. I love the texture on the wall and floor very much.  I will try to do it in my work. A very fine well done job!!

Jessica , this was one of our vacation photos from our trip to alaska, we stopped in Victoria British Columbia Canada . I just wish we had eaten here now! Next time!
