tried a quick experiment today, blocking in the shadow side & then the light sides on a little canvas - attempting to apply the lessons of this workshop!

Thanks very much, Michael, Mario, Silvana & Stu!  I agree Michael, according to the rule, I should have kept those cars in the shadows even darker!  Not used to painting light things with such dark tones!

It was really interesting to try this method.  I think it has a freshness & colour harmony lacking in the other painting that took me many more hours!  Very helpful workshop.

Okay, there you go!!! ....look how nice the women "fits" into the scene now!  The white cars in shadow look better, but could even be darker.  You know Jessica, I am very impressed that you took the time to experiment on this concept.
