Jeri, I build a texture on the canvas and then paint in acrylics. I do love the textures!

What medium did you use on this Deb? Love the light and texture. I am just starting to use my own panels with an oil ground instead of gesso surface. I love how it creates texture and the paint doesn't absorb into it. Lovely painting.

Ann, I love using an elastic caulk to achieve textures and then I often paint with many layers of glazing. I often spray the canvas with water after what I have painted dries and then use thinned paint in spots. That was used where the light is coming thru the sky holes. It's fun, scary and doesn't work sometimes.

Beautiful light and texture ! Was it painted on a textured panel to get the paint stroke texture ? The glow is extraordinary the way you have the warm light coming thru the lacy edge of the tree.
