It's a great book, isn't it Ro. It's always good to be reminded about negative space,

LOL!! I'm with you Beverly! Thanks Ro! Sometimes I need a gentle prod to remind me to read more thoroughly from the marvelous books I do have! :-))

Hi Beverly, Thank you so much for your complement. Oh YES, I encourage you to do the exercises, and don't skip. You are just going to flip out when you do the first one "upside down". I went through the book with a bunch of ladies on another site, and we all posted the drawings to compare. They were all remarkable, so smilar. I would be happy to post mine when you do yours so you could compare. What we did on the other NING site was that one person put a blog on her page, and every one interested in doing the book posted to that one blog. If you are interested I could check it out to see if that would work here. Another bit of encouragement is this....graphite is so easy....if you have time to work for just 10 minutes you can. Next moment you have time to work again, pick up the pencil and within 15 seconds you remember where you were and just start - eventually the drawing is finished (that is how I worked on both the turkey and the elk). Just one more hint. When you make your view finder, make it out of glass. Glass being stiff, you can place things like the orange under it. You support the glass viewfinder on top of 4 cans. She teaches a lot of great tricks in the book - great book - let me know. Ro

You did a great job with this orange. I have that book but have never done the exercises...now I'm thinking maybe I should!
