Thank you Terry. This is one that took me FOREVER to paint. I wish the photo was good so you could see it, but it is not at all. When I was painting this I painted 1/2 of the flowers and switched to another part of the painting. When I finally got bact to the other 1/2 of the flowers - I had forgotten how I was doing them! OMGosh. I will never do that again. Another problem I had is I was working from a slide - remember those of old where you viewed the photo on a screen? And, I painted this in the winter time where there were no flowers in the pastures to go have a good look. All this seems like a million years ago. LOL Ro

Yelena, trust me on this.........I go with what ever interest me at the moment! I can change my mind in a heart beat or the wind blows, but at this time I am trying to focus on landscape painting. "They" say, one needs to paint plein aire to be a good landscape artist. I told a friend that I just did not "see" all these colors out there, and he said if I did not see them then I had not been trained to see them. I had heard of some famous artist in NY that taught all the greats and they painted colored cubes to learn to see. Low and behold - that was in Richard's color class. So, I am determined to learn to see correct color. Color in the highlight, color of the object, and color in the shadow. The kind of light can make it all change too........so color in the sun, color in the cloudy days, etc. Cool/warm color. Since I started "paying more attention" I think I am starting to see different colors in nature. All I know is that New Mexico is very colorful. /// Yelena, go with what you are interested in at the moment.......not doing something because someone else is doing it. I did that some too. Now I am trying so hard to focus on MY goal. Landscape paintings. Ro

I gave it a second thought and I agreed with you!
I should do something the same but can not make myself to exercise!

Yelena, I just started painting again after a long, long time. I had forgotten much. My latest works are in Richard's color class. I am going to continue on with the class until 2011 then I am going to try to paint using what I have learned. I am really trying to be patient and do the exercises as recommended. Ro

Gail, I am glad you like it, Thanks, I added a lot more the other day. I have it all loaded that I plan on putting I think. I got 1/2 of the cactus painted and was so tired of them, I switched and painted someplace else. When I went back to the cactus, I could not remember how I was doing it. Moral of story......dont stop in the middle of something in the painting! LOL I bet it took me weeks to paint this thing.
