Hi Bill came back to look again. Should have mentioned it before that I think your brush work is outstanding! I have had such a hard time with it, going over and over it instead of just leaving it alone.
What I came back to tell you, and I learned this from Stu do not take a picture with your flash on. Also do not take photo with direct sun light shining on it. : ))
Thank you Dorian and Ningning Li, I really appreciate your comments. Both of you are talented artist.
Dorian I will try your advise on taking photos. Ningning Li I see what you are saying about my value being to similar. I will experiment with my values. Thank you again and I am looking forward to following your work and learning from it.
Bill
Bill, I think that you did very good job on the rock, The value, brush strokes and colours abd detail light change are all very well done. And those are importaint and basic to start a good painting. You did it. The background value and hue are very similar to the rock. If I were you I will make the background lighter in value and color so that the rock will show. The shape of the mountains can be improved by breaking that circular curve. Just for your reference. I like this painting also because you applied a lot of paint on it. Strange , isn't it. I know, but it make the water move.
Sorry Bill
Don't know a thing about photography. I am using the camera on my cell phone and it has taken me a long time to get it figured out. I take Stu's advice and take the painting outside lay it down on the ground stand over the picture and take it that way. I recently re-programmed my phone and at last I took the best picture I have ever taken with it. Smiles : ))
Thank Dorian.I am having a time with my photos. Any suggestions on camera speed or distants?
Nice work Bill. Smiles to you : ))
