I'm not 100% sure how long they will last. But the leaves are dry before I start painting, and I seal them before painting. You need to mount them on a backing board once they are finished. They can be a bit brittle but gum leaves are fairly sturdy. You have to be much more careful with delicate leaves like maples but pressing them first helps. My first ones were done about nine years ago and they are still as good as when first painted.

Wow How long do they last?, also never heard of mixing gouache and acrylic, very well painted

Yes Gail, the paintings are a mix of gouache and acrylic paint, painted onto gum leaves. I did a series of them for students at the school I work. They chose their leaf and then requested their very favourite thing as a subject. I've done about a dozen of them. The mermaid is my favourite.

They are pretty and well painted. I am not sure I understand what they are since the title is SAMPLE. Ro
