Hi Gail, had to come back and check your other work after seeing your great gull painting!  Welcome to this site, you will really enjoy it and benefit, not only from Richard's excellent instructional videos, but from all the other helpful artists here too!  Like the simplicity of this!

Feedback! Thank you Jane! Yes, I think you're quite right about the number as well as the placement of the birds. Your observations made me realize too that the painting is lacking a focal point.

I love the little painting for it's tones and energy. I tried eliminating some of the birds....especially on the right and maybe lowering a bird on the left (for a lead in). I think that the design would be helped by that kind of shift.
