Thanks Olivia. The knife certainly makes one loosen up and paint thicker.

 Wow this is great Hazel The palette knife gives wonderful texture

I have been trying to use it more often but I have two problems

I am too tight as a painter and want to stay in control when I  should be loosening up and I am also just too tight. It seems to use a fierce amount of paint  :-))

Thanks for all the great comments folks. It was an exercise with an online mentoring class I am doing with Artist Phil Stark. An exercise in painting with thick paint and pallet knife.

Hazel, I stood back from my monitor about 5 feet, and I fell in love with this!  It has really nice depth, texture and color balance.  You should do more of these with this same style and technique.  Very good!
