Hi Nancy. Yeah, it took me a long time - that painting is sort of the result of a frenzied effort after many attempts :( . This sure is an active site! Thanks to you and all for taking the time to comment! Off to see yours. Cheers

Well, I like the jagged cliff on the left in the foreground. It leads the eye into the painting. I had trouble trying to figure out what to do with that area. Nyou handled it really well.

Thanks, Ann. I felt the moon rising gave an "atmosphere" - but I just drew it in without thnking about placement - mybad!

The moon adds another interest to pull the eye across from one side to another. I like the moon set to the side slightly it seems more natural to me.

Yeah - could be a good point about not centering things, Patricia. Tahnx. Oh well, so many damn factors to take into account ;)  I wonder what the next workshop will be?!

Jon,

Yip I know the feeling.  Personally, I like the moon, but off to the side and not dead center.   I do like this painting, otherwise I would not have commented on it.  The detail makes your rocks look 3 D...  Well done!!  I also checked out your website.  Love your awesome drawings too..  :))
