Thanks Rita! It's oils. The stones were actually not so easy for me, so, thank you:)
Love this - is it watercolors? Perfect colors...perfect stones - composition is beautiful.
Thank you Joan!
Thank you for the new likes!
If you look at Richard's painting, you'll see that he echos the blues through out his painting. Your painting is very good with the rich colors. I can't wait to see how you improve each month. There is so much to learn from Richard!
sky matching? http://easelnotes.com/ is a website I found. she has a blog with instructions
Thanks for showing me Brandy. It's very helpful. I think that would have worked better. Sometimes the paint just doesn't do what I want it to.
Brandy, you got me wondering how I could make the sky match the rest of the painting. Do you have any suggestions? I was going to try and complete another painting of this scene; this one has already been shipped to it's new owner so I can't change anything to it. I try to go for a certain look to my work (painterly, impressionistic) and sometimes find the sky to be difficult to achieve that look I'm after. I don't want it to be overworked and too soft looking so I'm not really sure how to get the right balance. I hope I get picked for the critique, but I'm sure that's everyone's hope:)
Thanks for your comments, Brandy.
Thank you Nancy! I planned on doing another one but it has happened yet:)
