The ocean is very beautiful, it does sparkle!  It is very original and I wouldn't change a thing.  Personally, though, :) the cloud looks like it is circling the sun, which is ok!  Why do we artists have to "pick" on something that You made?  That is the way you wanted it and inspired you, so... leave it!  It adds to the painting.  It is like the clouds are opening up for the sun to make a grand entrance!!  Love it.

I have responded twice about the "dark shape" but it doesn't seem to post. Will try again. Yes, this was meant to be a bird, which was in the reference photo...same scale. I could make it smaller, more defined, or lighter in value. Thanks so much for your input...very valuable!

Lovely colors and application style. I'm with Christine, I think the dark shape distracts. Is it a bird? If so, you might just soften the color.

Very different look, Karen...very pretty! My only question would be about the dark area in the sky...not sure what that is. It seems to detract a bit. Otherwise I really like it ( =
