Thank you Glenys......I think this painting could be improved but I am frustrated as I am not sure I see exactly how to go about it.  I think that is probably a sign of not quite enough experience yet but I am sure more painting will help that.

I have not been on this site for a very long time.  Just returned last week from a backpacking trip into the Sangre Di Cristo mountains in Colorado.  Was doing small plein air studies along the way and this was my first effort at doing a studio piece from the plein air study.  Needs some improvement in areas but was fun.  Here is a snapshot of the process.   Beautiful area and really want to return.  I hope to develop more paintings from these studies as it allows me to relive the experience anew as I paint them again.
