Michael, Thank You!   I have sat and looked at this painting trying to figure out what was bugging me about it, and now, I can see it!  Thank you once again for your help.  Hope all is well and I wish you a Happy  New year and all the best in 2017

Hi Laurena.  Your compositions are really improving ... keep up the good work on that, my friend.  I like the simplicity of the rock shapes on the right and the bottom.  The rocks on the left you might want to simplify some more ... not so many busy cracks.  The sunlight is coming from your left ... the rocks on the right .. being hit by the sun .. you painted cool.  The rocks on the left, in shadow, you painted warm .... a reversal of that would have given a better illusion of sunlight? ....  try to keep stuff in the shadow cooler then what is being hit by the sunlight .. and darker.  Caveat:  this is not written in stone though. Okay, wonderful painting ..  I can sense the water falling and flowing over the rocks ...!!!
