Wow!  Beautiful waterlilies!  I specially like the light spots on those leaves.   The green color you have here are so precise and lovely.  Great work Sandra!

Sandra, I started painting at age 9 in oils and then painted only in acrylics for years, coming back to oils mainly about 12 years ago.  I really prefer oils because they are just more versatile than acrylics, even the new slower drying ones like Golden's open acrylics and the Atelier Interactive acrylics (I have used both).  The main difference is just easier control of edges and the ability to variegate color without so much glazing and scumbling.  The oils you have done are fabulous also.  I also tend to have a pretty tight style and was able to loosen up a lot with plein aire painting the last 5 years, but that is a much harder to do than switching from acrylics to oils.  I really like your digital art also.  What program do you use?  Stu

Thanks Sal, Thnks Stu, Yes most are acrylics as is this one. I am trying to get better at oils since I tend to want to render too tightly. I would love to be more impressionistic!

Sandra, your work is stunningly beautiful.  I looked through your website as well as what you have posted on the complete artist.  I particularly like your color harmony and fabulous shapes in this one.  Are most of these acrylics.  I noticed on your website that your portraits (they are terrific) look more like oils, but hard to tell sometimes.  Thanks for joining us in these workshops.  I am sure your input will be quite valuable to the other artists.  Stu
