Oil on canvas 12"x12" Using compliments red violet and yellow green. Let me say right off this has given me a headache; literally and figuratively, working this combination of colors...which means it was probably the most beneficial!. There are a number of things I could still play with, but, well, that headache says enough already! Next I hope to do a quieter one of my choice. I would name this "Nightmare In Prescott" *laughing...sorta*

Ningning, yes, what a happy surprise, I do feel very lucky and blessed today. I really like the Chinese way of thinking about reality. Going to write that down and read it often with all the changes going on in life at the moment. I'm sure I can hear your laughter tinkling through the universe this very moment! Thank you.

Carolyn, Contratulations wan the original painting of Richard. What an lucky lady you are. Chinese believe that the reality always is the opposite to the one's nightmare. Your Nightmare in Prescott brought you a happy supprise. I am very happy for you and laughing together with you.

Thanks Roena. I just brought R's and mine side by side and while I've grayed the top right and bottom left equal to his, and even the top left and bottom right but not to the same degree. Where I didn't is quite obvious. The left side above and beneath the breaker. If you scroll down a ways, you will see my 1st string of color mixes and the second. I tried to stay very true to the challenge guidelines, and took no liberty to go reasonable or pretty. That was the challenge for me and why I chose to do this really awful (lol!) set of colors. It was a valuable one. Perhaps my migraine was so advanced at the end I just wanted to read "DONE". Good stuff, thank you.

I am wondering if those colors were grayed way down if they would work.  Just a touch of the colors to change it from more neutral (natural) gray.  Fun experiment non the less.  smile

Just looked at RR's and he does have some vivid colors, but the edges of the canvas are quite grayed down.

This is interesting.

You are very kind Carolyn - so many things consuming my time at the moment that haven't even started the last two workshops so don't have the audacity to offer criticism!

I love that you so courageously chose these interesting colors. They are so effective as is your brushwork which creates such active movement. Well done, Carolyn!

HaHaHa. Thanks for the laugh Carolyn.I'll check out Dor's 'L-G'. Me got a bit more time at the moment at home.Just had operation on left shoulder so it's just as well I'm right handed.

Give it a go, Maria, nothing to lose and much to gain (migraine aside, of course)... Check out Dor's "Loosey, Goosey", she just let it go. That's something I'm still working on. Too nigley and self-critical much of the time. That is a part of the reason CA is such a great place!
