Thank you Michael, Lori and Nancy for the encouraging comments.  Michael, you critique is spot on.  Thank you.

As I study Richard's cube, the broken colors are more prominent on his final version and they are off from the value of the base a little.  My orange cube is sort of imitating that one.  It seems give the cube more of the "character"? I could be wrong.

You really nailed the blue cube Xiao!!  Your values are perfect on that one.  The green cube is also good ..the value of the top plane is a little to dark perhaps ..there is too much of separation from the value of the light plane.  The orange cube seems to have given everyone fits? ...The green on the shadow plane is much to dark ..the core values look good.
