G'day Ana,  thank you so much for the very nice comments on my scratch art pelican.  I started painting 7 yrs ago when I retired at 70 and tried acrylics and oils before I found watercolors.  I love watercolors but alas, it's a medium where looseness is a great asset and well, I very detailed.  You know start wuth an 1 1/2" brush and find yourself using a rigger in short order.....   Started scratching 16 months ago and love it..  Chuck  :)  XX  PS I've been watching your painting roll by as I am writing this and love you works..   very very nice..  Chuck  :)

Oh Ana! You are very generous with your remarks! Sounds like we have things in common with our painting - particularly with wanting more confidence "to loosen up". When I find the time to do the workshops they are great- not only for Richard's good instruction but also for the encouragement from the friends we make along the way!

  Hi Ana,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments Ana. I can do the tight stuff but I'm

still struggling on loosening up. Either way it's still fun.

Thanks Ana for your comments. Yes I agree the pink tree is like a blob! But I didn't want to give it too much detail and lose the depth in the scene. Will have a think about that one. I am very pleased with my painting of the Great Lake and the leaves weren't difficult at all. I have a nice little angled brush and simply used the side of it to create the leaves!
