Painting Landscape Commission Day 1 - Ocean's Beach

Had a great day painting in the studio today - trying out some new ideas with colour and application technique. Really satisfied with today's progress. Will hopefully get to finish this tomorrow. I've painted this scene before with different colouring and a few changes in the composition, so it gives me the chance to try new things when I don't need to worry about the basics anymore. I can highly recommend painting the same scene several times because if this - it speeds up development. Got to have a worthwhile scene to begin with though otherwise you'll be flogging a dead horse.
