EXTREME! painting in the Routeburn River.

Had a great day painting here with John Crump today ( www.johncrump.co.nz ). I've taken my yearly trip to the South Island and have been snowed in for the past week, all stormy weather - very frustrating, but the last to days have cleared up so we did 2 paintings yesterday and this one today. The snow really makes a great subject of everything it touches - suddenly you have stark areas of light value to use in your design, plus you can make snowmen and have snow fights and it sounds all crunchy when you walk in it! Very exciting.

I haven't painted for a while so these paintings all seem a bit pedestrian to me, but it's been so enjoyable I'm not that worried about it and am just looking forward to the next great location, the next hot coffee out the back of the truck and the great company of John and others on the next painting adventure.

The whole of UK is covered in a huge raincloud today and for the next few days they say, no chance of getting out in the fresh air.

I love what you have done with these paintings. Just shows how white snow has colour too.
