<p>Hi Richard: Thanks for the comment -you are correct of course. I actually put it there on purpose, thinking that as it was on the left edge it would not impeed the viewers' flow through the painting, but would serve as a repeat colour/shape from the focal area. But now that you point it out, I can see it is not working -I will glaze it back a value or two and then repost.</p>

<p>Nice one Sharon! Way more appealing than the photo. Love the strength of it. A bit dubious about the big light tree on the left fighting with the centre of attention (the curve in the road and the light central tree). Might have toned that down a little or softened the edges. My two cents.</p>
