Well, drat!  I typed up a long message and did ??? and deleted it.  So....thank you for your comment on my Rees Valley after RR.  I did not buy the lesson, just jumped right in to try to learn  how RR mixes and uses all those grays.  I will keep attempting to conquer landscapes to the level that I want.  lol

Hi George.  I am glad you enjoyed my WIP video of The Otter Cliffs.  I do think this was the hardest painting I ever attempted to do.  Richard's was truly a master and his work is beyond my skill level to perfectly copy it.  I do think I learned quite a lot in the attempt though.

Oh dear.........have to clean up after every painting session and put things away!  Yikes.

We live in a motor home and my studio / computer station is the dining table that is MY SPOT.  I have 4 paintings sitting on the dash leaning against the windshield so aid in drying, One painting WIP hanging above the bed from cabinets, one hanging on a rod going corner to corner in the shower and there are times I just want to look at my pretties so I get them out and put them all over the place!  My husband is my biggest supporter!!!!!

I guess kicking the wife out is not an option (just kidding of course)..........but PLAN B is to find a bigger place to live so you have a closet you could turn into a studio and just shut the door when that painting day is over.  grin  Remembering our apartment days, we had one that had 2 huge walk in closets.  Wala a studio.  Oh well, one must just make do with what must happen.  At least you do get to paint.  smile

Thanks for the comment on my painting Morning Light.  Did you notice below where I showed my Color Journal and the mixes "I could obtain" using those colors?  I dont think I could have come up with all those pretty colors with out doing the mixes before hand to see what all I could get.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your painting.  Being a self-taught 'artist' I started painting in the realism style, thinking I should learn how to paint a realistic item first..then expand on the style once I got comfortable painting.  I would love to be able to paint in the impressionistic style; maybe even abstract, but that will have to be later as I get a better feel for application.  I still don't feel happy with my brush strokes, but practice makes for perfect...they say! By the way, the title for the painting you were talking about was actually the reference to where it was actually located: Rainbow Falls at Horseshoe Pasture River in Sapphire, North Carolina.
