I've finished my painting using a painted ground. What an interesting experience. There is a big difference when you do this as on a white canvas it's much lighter. Will post tomorrow the picture. Happy painting!
Hi Jeri Yes it is not a common name in NZ Our Boucher side of the family From NZ days came from Christchurch way. My husbands father was a shepherd.
Love your soft brush strokes in your paintings.
Glad to be your friend. This is a cool site for all level of artists and a great learning tool. I am fortunate to live not that far from Richard R. and he is so generous with sharing his skill which he has spent a lot of tome mastering and I have seen it change over the years. Such a talented young man.
Hi Jerri, If I may ask, when are you coming to Santa Fe? and who is giving a workshop? I seem to hear about them after they are done! Thank you for the friend request. It is an honor!
Thank you for your friend request Jeri I am delighted to be your friend and look forward to seeing more of your lovely work. Good luck with your dreams!
Hi Jeri, I didn't realize that you live near me. I am in San Jose and paint with friends that live in Gilroy. Where is Firebaugh ? I drove over to Fresno last week through Pacheco pass and thought about taking a painting field trip there.
Hi Jeri, Thank you for your friend request. I wish you every success with your future dreams - to be able to have more time to paint is great. I stopped working last year and it's great to have more time to spend on painting now. Your paintings are lovely and I love your use of colour.
Hi Jeri. I'd be so pleased if you do paint some of my photos.
I'm an admin on 'Paint my Photo' and Iwas going to tell you about it....wonderful resource for copyright free photos. I looked for your name to see if you were already a member.....and I see you joined back in Jan. You may have forgotten about it. We have so many wonderful photos Jeri.....you'd be spoilt for choice.
I have something like 1400 photos. I hope you'll take a look and use whatever inspires you. :) Meanwhile I'll upload a wide panoramic seascape for you here.
Hi Jeri, thanks for your friend invitation. I appreciate your offer for tips and sharing your expertise. Love your artwork! I'm just beginning my artist journey and trying to learn all I can about acrylic painting. I started with watercolor but found acrylics more forgiving and I can stop and start when I need to. My free time is limited as I work full time and have two grandsons I love spending time with. Thanks again and I look forward to a productive friendship.
Hi Jeri, Thank you for the friend invite and comment. I am really just starting painting seriously, have always dabbled, photography has been my main hobby.
Have tried acrylics but they dry real fast. I do like the feel of oils better, more smooth. The new water soluble ones still seem to take a while to dry, but they dont smell and brushes clean easy. I havnt tried thinning them with water at all. Are not sure one is supposed to? Paul

Oh my Jeri. I just today saw the friend's request. Not sure how I missed it, but would have accepted immediately had I seen it before.
