Do you have any goals for your painting?: Painting has been a goal of mine since I was young but we didn't have much money and school came first and that was no fun. But I was trained as a technical illustrator just out of highschool...technical and black and white. Color is new to me and I am making time to get into painting now that my son is grown and married... it's time for me (sorta) but I am getting there...

Actually I wonder why some of these oviously very good artists are even bothering. I hope to learn more by watching Richard at work but it is good to have attempted, as when I look at everyone elses and read Richard's critiques of other work, I can see things that I have done glaringly incorrectly. Its an exciting learning curve for me. As we say in NZ Kia Kaha or Take heart ( Abridged kiwi version) I think the Maori version is "be strong".
