Are you a full time artist?
Part Time
Who are your favourite 2 artists?
How do I choose?
Currently, Richard Robinson because I love his style and teaching techniques. I want to loosen up. His landscapes are so inspirational.
My two California artists are Barbara Davies and Gary Bergren. Each very different and accomplished. Both part of my "learning ladder". My first teacher was Gary Jenkins, a PBS artist. This is where I learned to oil paint. I became a "certified teacher." Learning never ends......
Do you have any goals for your painting?
Yes, I am a very tight painter and my hope is to become more loose with that paint brush. I don't exactly "choke" the brush, but I might as well. I am really at a point for change and this is probably because I am a lot more confident. Richard has so much to offer. I have already incorporated a few of his techniques in a painting. It felt really good. Goals? Sell a few, win some awards.

I live in Corona, between Riverside and Orange County. My favorite places are the beach and the mountains. I'll add a few more photos of some of my work over the years. My youngest son is 16 and actually have paintings that have been sitting that long that have not been finished. Hopefully can retire in about 2 years, according to hubby.
I haven't really had a chance to "study" Richard. I have viewed everything he has posted on the website. I also record the painting shows on tv (Bob Ross, Wyland, Jerry Yarnell, etc.) and paint along with those. Again, since I work full time and am baseball mom, I just don't get a lot of time for myself. More practice means more paintings.
Thanks Joan. Would that be near Palm Springs? That scene was actually painted from one of the art instruction books I have, don't recall the actual artist, I have several. I am trying to do more paintings from my own photographs since I do take a lot of photos as well. I joined here after coming across Richard's website when surfing the web for tips, techniques, etc. Just need more time to myself to actually paint. I enjoy viewing other's work as well. I will have to go view yours now. I am currently at my desk at work, but need some motivation to get through my day--not that I don't love my job--just ready to retire already!! ; )
