This one is from my southern winter 2011. Its beyond the head of Lake Tekapo. The wonderful winter willows contrasting beautifully with the cold of the snow and the lead in of the icy stream worked well for this one.

Hi Tammy, Thank you for your kind words.  Very much appreciated. (O:  This place is quite magical and the day was utterly perfect.  The crisp clear air of winter in the back country and yet a warm sunny day.  Not a sound around except the birds and the movement of the stream.  I didnt paint it on the spot, its a studio painting but I did as usual stay a while soaking up the atmosphere.  In that way I find I can get back into the time and place when I am painting it later.  Best wishes.  (O:

Beautiful painting Lorna.  I especially like the snow on the mountains and the blending you have done on the slopes.  The painting keeps drawing me back - I want to keep looking at it.

Hi Nancy, thank you so much. Very kind.

This one is to be in next years New Zealand Contemporary Art Calender.  That is very exciting!
