Thanks Li. Besides being a fantastic painter, you are becoming quite an astute art critic. I am not sure that I deserve all those compliments, but I certainly will accept them; however, I actually think that you did a much better job than I did with this scene. Stu
I think it is time to vote. I vote this one. I enjoy it's reality, interesting shapes, great color, unusual texture, sharp contrast, fascinating complexity, atmosphere, mood, light, horizontal movement, vertical counter- movement, light shape moving against dark shape. All these were showed in your painting. For your information. I checked it with Richard's "Principle of painting" . Happy for you.
This is a lovely piece Stuart, your style is very relaxed. I love your palette with its cool light, and the shadows are cast just as they would be. The little opening that leads you through to the beyond is so convincing. Gorgeous! well done! ++
Very nice work, Stu.
Wonderful Stuart, you have captured the feel of this place beautifully.
Lovely painting. Nice textures too.
Beautiful!!! What an excellent depth you created. I also enjoy the tempreture contrast of sky and rocks. I did not put on the desert bush as I did not know how to do it. You nailed the colour of desert plant. I like the details of the layers of the rocks too. They are very real. Happy for you.
