8x16 acrylic on canvas. Workshop 60. critique always welcome.I wasn't 100% happy with the background of my other one, so I decided to try some background techniques on a new one.

Thank you Sharon!! And thank you jeri for your insights. I did have less detail and darker there but then got carried away and wrapped up in the details.. next time I'll really keep that in mind!

The bird is very well done but would like to see less detail in the branch near the far end from the bird as it detracts from the bird. The human eye only sees details in the focal area and the rest will be slightly blurred out. Also, I would add more of a gradient from that same end in a darker value so that the area that is light around your bird will really pop. Hope that helps.
