Thank you Candi, thank you Mairo, 

the kingfisher was there for quite a while. I took more photos as he shifted around bit and observed the fish. But since then no sign of him.

To the painting, I paint more nowadays and I feel how I benefit from it. And so friendly remarks propel me along!

I have a few autumn snaphots and began to work on them. The colours and the light was too good to let that pass. Have good day!

Your painting is beautiful; I really like everything about it; your colours, your brushwork, the interesting water and the way you have captured the stance of the poor little mite. He is very convincing. Your photo is amazing too; how lucky that he stayed still long enough to give to the time to photo him.

I thought this challenge is not for me. Then I rediscovered this photo in my camera from February of this year and gave it a try. It was the first time I saw a kingfisher in nature and it was in our garden. I think this guy was cold and hungry did not enjoy the sleet falling.
