I really like your brush work in this one, especially the rocks and water. It gives a great result
This is a beautiful painting, Pauline!
To me this painting is the best yet! Bravo Pauline!
Hi guys, thank you Ann Michael and George so much for your encouraging and constructive comments and everyone who has liked my effort- this was an exciting and satisfying challenge set by Richard, i have never copied a great masters work before but i am definitely going to be doing it again and again. I have learned so much by doing this - Maybe one day i will create a great painting all on my own (fingers crossed) :-}} PS you made my day Michael!!
Hey Pauline .... I find myself continuously going back to your painting and re analyzing it ... and, by golly, my comments were totally wrong ... I like your interpretation of the sail! .. sometimes, after looking at so many paintings, I develop a "knee Jerk" reaction and fail to really "look" at the work. So, Paint on Pauline! .... I give your painting 5 stars!!
Very well done Pauline! I like the reflections of the sail on the left building and also the light penetrating the sail on the boat.
Good drawing Pauline. Your sail is a little weak ..would like to see more contrast of value and color saturation .in the shadow shapes of the sails. ... the dark values of the sail will be darker than the shadow shapes on the buildings .. use them as your value gauge.
Nice feeling of light coming on the sail !
