San Vigilio - Sargent / Mosleh Collaboration

The same two paintings that are used in the demo are used here mostly as an exercise for composition rather than brushwork. With hopes that my artistic license is not revoked due to excessive abuse.

I've been thinking about trying some little, more abstract studies, with gouache, just haven't gotten round to it. Look forward to seeing more of your work here!

Comment by Daryoosh on February 24, 2017 at 8:49: Hi Candi, Thanks for taking the time to share your very helpful thoughts. You are right, the perspective does seem off but I am not sure why. I did draw two perfect ovals for the top surface before I started painting. As far as medium goes, this is my second painting in Guache but I love it. Water color didn't work for me because it seems like you have to know what you are doing and plan well. I am not big on knowing what I am doing. Where is the fun in that? With oil and gauche I can start with really awful piece then change it to kinda awful, go to really bad and improve to moderately bad...... you get my drift.

With this piece, I wanted to do a study with Guache and then do a Sargeny piece with cool brush strokes but life got in the way and I decided to just finish this (barely).

I think if you would have subdued the hill,sky, and water in the back it would have been more effective though .I'm also thinking the right side of the rock cropping may be off a bit in perspective? How are you liking the medium, you certainly can get vibrant colors!
