" A day in paradise" REVISED after John Singer Sargent

After getting some good feedback I adjusted my Rockwall and I revisited a few areas that were bothering me including greying down the back building. Does anybody else have a really hard time taking a photo of their painting?! I always have issues with glare, in this case on the right-hand side. Or the camera just drowning out the colors . 18x24 acrylic

Thank you diana! I appreciate it. I posted a revised version. I worked on a few things that were bothering me. However the Colors are more true in this one.

I sympathise with the glare when taking the photo but its still a good painting.

Hello Adrienne

There are regular oil paints which you probably know something about.  However, there are "water soluble" oil paints (I use them and so does some other people here) Richard uses them most of the time because of his allergies. Water soluble oil paints, can be cleaned up with water  like acrylics. Please use a search engine, and learn about about them.    Smiles to you and Happy Painting.

Thank you Lisa! I really appreciate it. Thank you Dorian, I'm pretty new to painting and haven't tried oils yet. I'm a little intimidated. I bought some and was going to do this with them but forgot walnut oil so I ended up just using what I had. I never used black before this one. Not a fan. And first time doing buildings, was very interesting.

Came back and looked again.  Had not realized you painted this in acrylic.  I think that is very difficult to do!  Smiles coming your way.  :-)

I wish I could handle acrylics! But I think I feel more comfortable with WMO. You've done a nice rendition. Please! When you find a way to take a good photo of your piece, would you share? It seems to be many of us are struggling with the sane issue!
