San Vigilio - Sargent / Mosleh Collaboration

Guache on paper. 10.5 inches x 14.5 inches.

The work in process can be find here: https://youtu.be/kN-ukThzA38 in case it is chosen for critique.

The same two paintings that are used in the demo are used here mostly as an exercise for composition rather than brushwork. With hopes that my artistic license is not revoked due to excessive abuse.

Thanks Dorian, that was the plan. I figured people I have met a lot of folks that regret chasing fame and fortune but not many that had fun ;)

Thanks for visiting my site Candy. The design of the menu may need some updating. Did you see different categories (still life, ..... ) on the site?

The Gorilla is painted on a cabinet door. I took the photo in a zoo and immediately after I realized I have contributed to his situation by buying the ticket. The painting was my way of dealing with guilt.

Thans Diana for your kind comments. Most of it is with a chipo brand but when I needed more pigment, I used my precious Holbine. My first trial with it came out OK but since I used the combination of some images on the web and I am not sure if it is different enough from the original, I can't post it. But it is more convenient than oil but I still prefer oil for more serious work.

Thank you Lisa for your kind remarks. That was the idea. I have seen some beautiful lighting in that time if the day and wanted to see if I could fake it here. Your encouragement helps me stick with it and get better. I am blocking forward to see more of your work.

Wow! Definitely different and gorgeous! I love the strength of your colors... they are so vocal! It looks like it is captured in that very small moment of the day when you still have the warm colors of the sunset, but they start lingering with the cool colors of night! Very, very interesting! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Cristina. I was not sure if it is too different but shaking it up seems to be a requirement out there these days. Being good is something art market could live without as long as it is different. I went to New York with such high expectations and came out disapointed, feeling like everyone else gets something I don't.
