Hi,

I am shifting my home. I have many costly paintings that I have collected over all these years. Now, I am afraid it might get spoiled while transferring it to the new house. I have been taking care of it well, and now I am really worried about its safety while shifting. I read some useful tips here, http://www.armmove.com/en/blog/art-prints/how-to-properly-care-for-your-art-prints-while-moving/. But still, I would like to get some tips from you all as well. Should I hire professional movers? Will that be a good option?? Please help.

Hello Hailey,

I have some questions:

The link you posted referred to the transporting of 'art prints'. I suppose the procedure for protecting art prints and paintings is similar. If your paintings are framed, are they covered with glass?  This makes a difference.

How far away are you moving?

If you use professionals, can you insure your pieces?

Gerald

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Some of them are framed and are covered with glass, and some are without glass. I don't know if I could get them insured. Will have to contact a professional moving company and talk to them and see. Thanks anyway.
