Thank you Jon and Diane for your input. I rework the trees and put the poles in as you have suggested and some broken color into the houses. Painting the skies vertical is an idea I have seen from Barry John Raybold and Eric Bowman. Maybe I need to practice that some more as well as painting trees. I suck at painting trees!

Interesting stuff! Re the shadow edge transition - I didn't notice that in Bowman's work - but I sure did in Wayne Thiebaud's! and, if I remember right, Margaret Kessler mentions it in her book ' Painting better landscapes, specific ways to improve your oils', I haven't really been trying do do it recently - maybe I should!

Thank you Jon. I also love Eric Bowman's work. I have notice he love to use pink a lot in his work. He also outline his shadows with pink. Interesting.

Really nice, Aurelia! - lovely color harmony.

Yeah, I keep an eye on Eric Bowman's work - I like skies like this a lot  - Marc Delessio is one of my inspirations for skies (I really like his stuff)
