With this one I wanted to try a square format rather than rectangle, but I'm not convinced this was a good idea. I really like this photo but thought that it was a bit unbalanced with the boats concentrated on the left side. So I removed the yacht and moved the small headland from the left to the right side. I also moved the buoys a bit so they would help "lead into" the composition.

Hi Aurelia, Thanks a lot for your comment. Yes indeed that is is good idea. I think I would also need to revert to the rectanglur format in this case to leave sufficent space for the smaller boat. I will give it a try. Thanks !

This is a lovely scene Mairo.  You can place the little boat in front maybe to the left to fill in that empty space and create a more pleasing composition.

Oh thanks Jon, that is very nice to hear :) I thought the two boats and the quay all over on the left side looked a bit "cluttered". Maybe I could have left the rectangular format and moved the little yacht more into the foreground,  and break it away from those other elements. The exercise saw really good because it really got you focusing on the composition and thinking hard on how things could be moved around. A bientôt !

You seem to have a good handle on it, Mairo! Technically savvy :)    - I have real probs not being literal. (I wouldn't have taken the front boat out in this one... do you have a reason for that?)
